Hears earplugs have been put to the test and passed with flying colors. Through these tests we were able to determine the protection levels in SNR (20dB) and NRR (13dB). The certifications mentioned below also assure that the materials and packaging are up to par with global standards. All tests took place in 2024 at an accredited laboratory and we will continue testing our products to offer the highest quality of ear protection.
1. Certified According to American, European, and Australian Hearing Protection Standards
- American Standards: In the U.S., hearing protection devices must comply with ANSI (American National Standards Institute) standards, specifically ANSI S3.19, which outlines the methods for measuring the sound attenuation of hearing protectors. To achieve this certification, Hears earplugs underwent rigorous testing in accredited laboratories to ensure they meet the required Noise Reduction Rating (NRR) specified by ANSI. After testing it was determined Hears earplugs offer a NRR of 13 decibels.
- European Standards: In Europe, hearing protection products must meet the requirements of the EN 352-2 standard, which specifies the safety, testing, and labeling requirements for earplugs. Hears earplugs was tested by a notified body, ensuring they comply with the CE marking requirements, which signify that the product meets EU safety, health, and environmental protection standards. After testing it was determined Hears earplugs offer a SNR of 20 decibels.
- Australian Standards: In Australia, hearing protection devices must adhere to the AS/NZS 1270 standard. This standard outlines the specifications for acoustical and physical properties, as well as the performance requirements for earplugs. To be certified, Hears earplugs would need to pass testing by an accredited Australian laboratory, ensuring they meet the standard’s criteria for attenuation and comfort. After testing it was determined Hears earplugs offer a rating of SLC80 - 19.
2. Certified According to ANSI, EN, and AS Hearing Protection Standards
- This indicates that Hears earplugs have specifically been tested and certified to meet the key standards from these three regions: ANSI S3.19 (U.S.), EN 352-2 (Europe), and AS/NZS 1270 (Australia/New Zealand).
